The Hand-to-Mouth Players announce auditions for their 17th Annual Award-Winning PLAYWRIGHT/DIRECTOR'S WORKSHOP on Sunday, June 29, 2008 at 2:00 and Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at 7:00 at the Trinity Boscobel Methodist Church, 275 Church Street Buchanan, NY.  Five, all original, one act plays with varied casting needs will be performed Oct. 3, 4, and 5. The plays run from 10 to 25 minutes long. Men and women from 20's to 60's are needed. Actors may choose to audition for one play, or more than one if they wish. There is a mix of comedy, drama, dramedy, and short monologues.

The last performance will be adjudicated by a representative from the Theatre Association of New York State (TANYS). Feedback will be given to the playwrights, directors, actors, and the individual productions.  This workshop has had a one-act play selected to perform at the TANYS Festival for fifteen of the past sixteen years. One of last year's entries, Fostered Ideal, was given the TANYS Festival's People's Choice Award in November, 2007, and was chosen as Outstanding Production for the ESTAFest Original Works Festival in May, 2008.
