Press Release - Nuts

for immediate release

The Hand-To-Mouth Players of Montrose NY are excited to announce their kickoff production of the 2000 season. Tom Topor is the author of Nuts, a thoughtful and engaging drama, which does have its share of humorous moments. The lead character, Claudia Draper has killed a man. She is shocking, outspoken and defiant-but the question is whether she is mentally competent to stand trial. Theatergoers may be more familiar with the film version of Mr. Topor’s play, the 1987 release starring Barbra Streisand. The stage version of this compelling story is no less powerful and moving.
Jeff Virgo of Peekskill is enjoying his fourth time directing for Hand-To-Mouth, having previously helmed Crimes of the Heart, California Suft and Screw The Rules, an original one-act play written by Jeff.
Mr. Virgo has assembled a diverse and talented cast for this production including; Christine Schneider and Robert Bryan of Cortlandt Manor, Eric Goche of Peekskill and Mt. Vernon, Bill Olsen of Poughkeepsie, Phyllis Kirigin of Croton, Michael Weintraub of Ossining, Jan Steigerwald of Mt. Vernon, Greg Shults of Peekskill and Adrienne-Marie Pollack of Garrison.
The production is scheduled for Fridays through Sundays March 3, 4, 5, 10, 11 and 12. Friday and Saturday curtain times are 8pm and Sundays at 2pm. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors. This production contains material and language that is not suitable for children. The play will be presented at Hand-To-Mouth’s "home" theater in Montrose NY. Please call for directions. General seating policy is in effect and no reservations are required.
